A Medical Nail TechnicianTM (MNT) is a state licensed nail technician who has completed nine modules of advanced training to prepare to work for a Podiatrist. After completing the online MNT course, he or she is required to experience an Internship under the direction of a Podiatrist or other physician to complete the practical skills needed for working in a medical office. The MNT Program trains:
- Aseptic Techniques and Sterilization Recognition of Conditions (not diagnosis)
- Debridement of Fungal Nails
- Building an artificial Hallux toe nail Strapping
- Curettage of Fungal Nails
- Pedicures on At-Risk Patients
- Understand Radiography/X-Ray Techniques Prosthetic Toenails
- Foot Health Evaluation
- Understands Medical Protocols
- Working with At-Risk Patients
- Introduction to Podiatric Lasers
